Who is Arkolia and how does the company position itself in the renewable energy sector?
Arkolia is a French integrated energy company that has been operating for over 15 years in three sectors: photovoltaics, wind power and biogas.
The company develops, builds and operates power plants for the agricultural sector, businesses, manufacturers, local authorities and large landowners.
With a network covering four main regions through its agencies in Nantes, Strasbourg, Toulouse, Montpellier and Rodez, Arkolia develops projects throughout France. Today, more than 270 employees are involved in this expansion. Innovation is part of the company’s DNA: Arkolia has launched Alpha Innovation, a programme that allows start-ups to be hosted at its headquarters, to co-develop solutions with internal teams and to bring up new products or uses, such as the recently developed photovoltaic supercharging stations.
Why centralise power plant monitoring?
Before Energysoft, Arkolia used several platforms to monitor and analyse its facilities. With nearly 3,300 sites, multiplying tools made operations more complex and hindered the harmonisation of practices.
The need was clear:
How does Energysoft respond to the challenges faced by an integrated energy company?
Arkolia has chosen Energysoft for three main reasons:
1/ Only one monitoring platform
The teams are gradually migrating all power stations. Around 400 sites have already been integrated, with full deployment planned for early 2026.
2/ Better data granularity
Ground-based power stations that have already migrated benefit from a time step of one minute, compared to five minutes previously. This more finer-grained analysis improves understanding of production behaviour.
3/ Reliable on-call management
Alerts sent by Energysoft directly trigger weekend on-call duty. Real-time feedback allows for the rapid remote restart of a power plant, saving man-hours and immediately boosting productivity.
What initial results has Arkolia observed?
Although full integration is still underway, several benefits are already apparent:
How does Arkolia manage the data amount of its sites?
With Energysoft, Arkolia no longer has to manage data storage, performance or system responsiveness.
The data is sent automatically to the platform, which handles all data processing and architecture.
How does Arkolia describe its relationship with the Energysoft teams?
Discussions are regular and solution-oriented. Specific requirements (such as the integration of ALMECA into the clearing module) are studied and sometimes directly incorporated into the roadmap. Collaboration is built step by step, with a shared desire to move forward in a pragmatic manner.
