In the hypervision sector, the ability to centralise and effectively analyse data from a variety of equipment is crucial to optimising production and supervision. Today, with the addition of a generic connector (or customisable connector), S4E SOFTWARE is taking a new step towards simplifying hardware integration and offering its customers full interoperability.
Integrate data from different hardware
A wide variety of monitoring equipment is deployed at solar power plants, including data loggers and PLCs. This equipment plays a key role in data collection and management, but differs in terms of format and complexity:
- Data loggers are more commonly used for small and medium-sized photovoltaic power plants. They collect, store and transmit data in a standardised, uniform format and offer a unified data format, simplifying their use.
- PLCs, on the other hand, are often used in larger scale power plants. They don’t just collect data; they also help to regulate it. However, because PLCs are programmable, there is no standard export format. They can provide data in CSV, XML or other formats, with widely varying naming conventions, complicating integration and use.
Until now, integrating a PLC on Energysoft required the provider to support a data format imposed by S4E SOFTWARE. This was not always possible for budget or deployment reasons.
A customisable connector for Energysoft
In response, S4E developed a customisable connector which provides a data mapping configuration within Energysoft to enable the conversion and interpretation of information into standard formats. This has a number of tangible benefits:
- Universal interoperability: Energysoft becomes compatible with all types of equipment, even those with specific file formats. Users benefit from a single platform that facilitates the management and supervision of all assets even though some may have differing technical configurations.
- Time and cost savings: By enabling specific mapping to be carried out in-house, the connector considerably reduces development time and cost.
- A solution suited to large infrastructures: this feature makes Energysoft ideally adapted to the needs of customers with high output power plants, where the diversity of equipment and data formats is often an obstacle to integrated management.
Energysoft’s customisable connector represents a breakthrough in power plant supervision. This new function marks a further step towards total interoperability, allowing each S4E SOFTWARE client to benefit from precise, comprehensive monitoring that is, above all, perfectly adapted to their specific needs.
